SEASON 2
On April 26th 2019, nine of our season 1 Arcadians began a brand new adventure in the 1.11 Village and Pillage update, for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
However, a few interesting twists had been added to this new world, making things even more challenging than before…
- One-player sleep was introduced.
- Ticking zones were available in the world. This was enabled in the industrial zone, where community farms were built.
- A death counter scoreboard was added to the game.
- The respawn cube and spawning platforms. In order to enable the death counter, players had to acknowledge their deaths – therefore Hell was created! When a player died they would respawn inside a bedrock box and confirm their death by clicking a button. This would take them to another room, where they had a choice of buttons, which could teleport them to a number of different places on the map.
The Arcadians challenged themselves and each other with some fun competitions in season 2:
The Pixel Art competition: The players would build their designs on flat coloured background areas. The imaginative creations would then be displayed on a map of the area.
The Zoo competition: Each player would choose an animal and build an enclosure for it in the Zoo area. Each section then received votes from the other players, and a winner was selected.
The fact the Arcadians love competition and games again became evident towards the end of the season, when Arcadia was built: A big casino featuring some popular games brought to life on Minecraft by redstone magic.
In season 2 many celebrations were had: There was Halloween and Christmas, which of course resulted in a Christmas tree and presents for all – but also a giant snow globe, a Christmas village and an ice castle. But also the first birthday of AthosCraft was celebrated appropriately: With cake!
Some amazing projects were not quite finished before the end of the season. There was an ambitious Hogwarts rail experience, which showed a lot of promise. Also, half of a flying saucer was built in the shopping district, but was abandoned for a while until one day it had turned into a giant bird bath! Who would do such a thing?!
One day the Arcadians discovered a mysterious portal. They gathered all their courage and ventured through… This was how Season 3 was born!
